Nurturing With Rhymes

Families who are looking for enrichment for their children and support for themselves need programming that is free, accessible, respectful and encouraging. Nurturing with Rhymes programs provide all of these elements. Each fall, winter and spring, free programs are held in schools throughout Saskatoon.

Through the simple teaching of rhymes, songs and stories the children gain new vocabulary, language awareness, and an enjoyable repertoire that they share with their parents/caregiver. Meanwhile the parents/caregivers learn new gentle ways to deal with the moment to moment challenges of parenting. They learn how beautiful language and rhythm can be used to comfort, distract, engage, teach and have fun with their young children. “…the rhymes help lots in the car, during change time, etc.”
